Septra DS (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is a combination antibiotic used to treat ear infections, urinary tract infections, bronchitis, traveler’s diarrhea, shigellosis, and Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia. Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
